Long road home for Freckles after 1,000km adventure

A domestic cat, given up for dead, has surprised its owners after being discovered foot sore and slightly injured in the Hunter Valley.

'Freckles' has become the star boarder at the Muswellbrook Animal Shelter after recently being found in the street by a local resident.

A check of the desexed male's microchip found he was registered, and unearthed an amazing story of adventure that has seen 'Freckles' wander halfway across the state and back.
