This has been a really good exercise so far for me. Alas my allowance is fast getting spent and hell i haven't even bought a new novel yet. I got a couple of cheapish old classics and far too much non-fiction but I got gripped by the first chapters and there went my budget. But who knows I might become hooked on Australian writing after this which would be a good thing.

So here's what i've bought so far:

Sydney by Jan Morris - ok not an aussie and i'm not sure its my best pic but i am very interested in what she has to say so...
The Bush by don watson - i'm really enjoying this though its not what i thought it was going to be.
Where song Began - by tim low - about australian birds - seems really lovely.
Baal Belbora - i'm going through this country so it seems a fitting aboriginal book to read.
Capricornia - a few buck by xavier herbert
The Timeless Land - a few bucks by Elanor Dark

I've got a list of about 10 novels that i'll choose from down the track. I've got just $25 left for this project. So it will probably one or two books. At least until I've read all those i've bought.

In my budget i've also spent on a book about music theory, some cheap books on haiku.

I can't go bonkers becuase I've still got to buy my etrex and a few other essentials.
