Anyone know a good canoe journey. Qld/NSW

Mon 29 Aug, 2016 6:24 pm

Yep thinking of ways to fill in summer holidays with the kids. I'd like to do a week long canoe trip with possibly up to grad 2 rapids. SEQ or NSW down to Coffs Harbour. Some flow would be good as the kids are only 10 and 7, so will not put in much effort. We have two 14ft rosco's.
As a kid we would come down the Tweed River from Uki, but it's only a two day adventure. Sure was good fun though.

Have you had a look at the paddlesafe app or waterways guide online. It gives river levels and descriptions.

Sorted, found a nice 4 day trip in Oxley Wild Rivers and Cunnawarra NP down the Chandler and Macleay Rivers. Full of wildlife, sarenity, isolation, and void of people....should be good.
I forgot I had an old publication called Rivers and Lakes of New South Wales. A canoeing and camping guide. By Chris and Yvonne McLaughlin. Out of print of course but I see libraries have copies, there is also a Qld and Victoria version.
