Christamas day ?

Postby Moondog55 » Thu 22 Dec, 2016 8:35 am

Anybody local on their own at Christmas we have room at our table.
Very simple food but probably enough of it
I just put up a spare tent in the back yard too so there is a cot to sleep on if too "tired" to drive home

Did already but only to familay and friends
We do how-ever extend the invitation to any "orphans" because sometimes spending Xmas on your own is sad and depressing

Lovely sentiment to share Moondog. I hope you, Cecile and all your family have a wonderful and happy Christmas.

Good on ya Moondog.
Hope you have a great day.
Tracy (my wife of 27 yrs) have done xmas day with 'orphans' since our time in Alice Springs 20 something years ago. Back then, we would get six or so couples together that didn't have any family in Alice and go out for Xmas lunch - which went all day.
I worked at the Four Seasons 'Resort' at the time, and I had put my hand up for being Santa, for work do's, and on Xmas Day - for 2 yrs ( could be 3) running. Had a ball!
Point is , was a great time of life, and we have never changed - our house is open Xmas Day and we actively spruik it - great memories.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, whatever you want to call it - to all.

Yes, lovely sentiment.

Some experience with "orphan"type Christmas as F in law is a retired Anglican bishop, and in the good old days there were plenty of orphans in the vicarage. Have done the same at our joint, but I have evolved into a bah- humbug type Athiest, so would happily give Christmas a miss, and just *&^%$#! off into the bush. I just think we should all be nicer to the less fortunate ( defined in any way, shape or form) during the year, rather than just at Christmas, however, in saying this, I'm not in any way wishing to detract from Moondog's offer.

Have a Happy Christmas to all those for whom Christmas is important.

A

I will be working Christmas Day, but hopefully I will have at least one person wishing to go out on a walk.

Christamas isn't a religious day for me, it's The Family day of the year and close enough to the Solstice to be important.
Being a cook and Chef for most of my working life it used to be just another hard day at work, being able to cook for friends and family is so much more like fun than work
