Santa Stuff.

Sun 01 Jan, 2017 7:06 pm

Well, I got a new quilt coming from Undercling-mike, that will be here Feb [ish].

And the kids got me an Orikaso folding dinner set. The cup is a bit silly but I see the possibilities in the plate or the bowl, mainly somewhere to do a little food prep.

Anyone else score anything interesting?

A book!! Doesn't sound much but my walks in the bush will never be the same again - it's called The Hidden Life of Trees, by Peter Wohlleben. The trees are talking to each other, storing memories, feeding each other....

Nice, GBW. The new edition (can tell 'cause it's a different photo).

It's 2nd Edition, 2015 NNW. I copied that pic off the web (for educational reasons) but mine has a different photo on the cover from the one I posted. He writes a very informative guidebook with plenty of info on geology, history, botony etc. I had a laugh at the gradient profiles when compared to the ones in the AAWT guidebook.

That's the new one. When I did the track in 2013, I bumped into John & Monica at the Serpentine Chalet campsite. They were gathering info for the new edition then.

None, zilch, nada, but that is because I asked for some really big birthday pressies instead, although I'm not holding my breath on the big tent

One Planet polar fleece jacket.

I'm amazed at just how much warmer it is than my old jacket. I'm not sure if that's because its better quality, or just because the old one was thread bare after about 13 years of use.

It's not as long as the old one though... so it breaths a little too well through a gap that appears at my lower back when I bend or sit.
