Generally the rest of us find less drastic ways to deal with overcrowding in our favourite parks.

Noise from the screams or gun shots?

Some would say its an efficient way of dealing with overcrowding. Imagine how nice the OLT or SCT would be without the crowds.

While I sympathise with the sentiment - especially considering our current political situation - there is no open season on humans. Not even those from NSW.

Are politicians human?

A subspecies, surely? Or are you thinking convergent evolution?

The guns. The animals are used to the sound of screaming. I mean, have you ever heard devils fighting (or mating)?

Fewer new members are joining, in favor of joining (or starting) Facebook groups, because they may not know or care there are pre-existing online groups for Activity Y, and they're already integrated into the FB/instagram scene. This in turn tends to draw the casual/infrequent members of forums away too, and the more people get on the FB bandwagon, the more that solidifies itself as the discussion hub, more people join, and the snowball builds. Only the older long-term members tend to remain in the forums.

The one exception I'm seeing is a certain motorcycle forum where the demographic is largely male baby-boomers who oddly enough, don't really like facebook. It's downspiralling for other reasons though.

Different story for technical groups (woodworking, model aircraft, machining etc). Different use base, and the FB platform doesn't lend well so well to content with less glam and more actual substance.

Funny you mention it, I have to admit a couple of general community style forums I visit have dropped off a bit, whereas the specialised forums are still going strong. However I thought this forum would be more in the latter category.

I was thinking of the screams of mutilated dying men, who have just been shot... Which is worse?

Devils mating probably, given the screams of dying shooters are so rare. If you want to hear real screams volunteer for a paramedic ridealong some time. Idiots killing themselves and others driving fast cars, bikes, alchohol and drug related accidents, drowning are where all the statistics are.

On that subject I'd love for them to put eradication teams in the parks here. We have buggar all people, worlds largest populations of feral animals. Government culls work but are far too infrequent, poisoning is a disaster. Our pollies duck the issue and blow money declaring 10 trees in some Brisbane suburb a 'wildlife corridor', while a million native animals are being eaten by cats and pigs in the rest of the state...
