Hacking Attacks?

Postby Mark F » Thu 19 Oct, 2017 9:34 am

Are you getting hacked? Twice now - this morning and a week or so ago I have been redirected to a scam web site - "you have a virus" type microsoft one. Even when I get to the main page the fonts are all larger than normal but the rest of the site is fine. Later the main page returns to normal - I assume as it gets refreshed on the server.

Thanks Mark

Yes we had a big attack about 3 weeks ago, I was walking at the time and managed to deal with it on my phone from the Blue Mountains
We had another one this AM.
Both times they have squirted a bit of script in that causes the browser to redirect the website to a dodgy website.
It took me about 10 mins to remove the dodgy javascript this morning -- it is gone now. (this is when you saw it return to normal.
I think I have found how they breached security, but the code base we are using for the forum does need updating.

They have not gained access to the Database.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Matt :)

Had the same thing this morning and it was obviously dodgy so closed it down. All OK now so well done.

Same for me again this morning. These hijacks amuse me no end as I use Linux and it reports a Microsoft problem.

A bit of a worry that scripts could be injected on the server without authorisation.
Just move it!
