Another Big Moment for Bushwalk Tasmania - Google Searching

Postby Son of a Beach » Wed 12 Mar, 2008 12:08 pm

This week marks a historic moment for the Bushwalk Tasmania forums, in terms of web search query results.

The majority of new members find us through Google, and although we've been ranked number 1 on Google for the search query bushwalk tasmania for some time, our site statistics show that people are more likely to search for bushwalking tasmania (ie, with the 'ing').

For this more popular search we've finally reached number 1 on Google this week, which means that we are now that much easier to find for people looking for the kind of information we provide. Being number 1 for these two search queries has been a goal of mine ever since the forums started, and it's a relief to have reached that milestone now.

So congratulations to everyone who contributes, and thanks to you all for posting your content over the past year since the forums were created. It's your posts that make all this possible! And it's just nice timing that it has coincided closely with Bushwalk Tasmania's first anniversary. :)

Congratulations Nik, and all contributing members of this forum. It is the interesting and informative posts on the forum which has caused people to want to join and be part of this rapidly growing group. To all the members who don't post their thoughts and reports,--dont be shy :? or think there is a core group of posters who know one another, and have chit chat between themselves. This is not the case as very few actually know one another so come and share your thoughts and ideas on walking, camping, and visiting remote or interesting places ,with the the rest of us. :D Once you have made your first post others will follow easily.
Once again congrats to Nik and all on reaching a GOOGLE milestone :D :D :D :D
Cheers
John
