WTB: (bought) Lightweight Pack

Postby dashandsaph » Mon 11 Sep, 2017 11:58 pm

Hi, I'm looking for a large framed (to suit 185 cm tall) light weight pack - perfect world would be a Gossamer Gear Mariposa but willing to consider other packs of 50-60 litre capacity and around 1kg or less in weight. I'm sure there are examples out there gathering dust, ready to be moved on to a home where they will be put to good use.

Hi dashandsaph,

I have an older style Gossamer Gear Mariposa large size with medium hipbelt (approx.30 to 40 inch waist). The pack weighs approx.700gram. I am 183cm tall/34inch waist - it has been perfect for me. In fact, this pack was my first introduction to ultralight so to say that I love it is an understatement. I am willing to let it go as I recently treated myself to a new custom 'waterproof' xpac pack. I was going to hold it just for sentimental value!

The pack is in very good 'used' condition. There was a tear on the water bottle side pocket but I patched and seam sealed this 2 years ago and it has been good ever since (see side photo). Also, my surname is faintly marked on the top! You may be albe to erase that.

Price (not negotiable): $200 delivered anywhere in Australia (that's approx. half of delivered price of a new one).

Deal done. Thanks dashandsaph...you don't mess around! I'm going to miss my Mariposa :( . I'll have to learn to love my new pack now... a Superior Wilderness Designs 35L in xpac. It will probably take a few trips to develop a relationship (like a few rounds in the sack :D ) but first impressions are good!
