TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

New espresso maker

Hi

Has anyone tried this new espresso maker, https://www.wacaco.com/ ?

A coffee tragic from Melbourne is considering investing, the weight looks good for bushwalking and from the website it seems to make espresso rather than filter coffee.

Best regards

sounds heavy but the extraction is good. weight is 360g which is 70g heaver than an aeropress...not a dealbreaker. But the aeropress is cheaper. User submitted Reviews on gearjunkie are equivocal.

If I didn't already have an aeropress I'd consider it.

I bought the minipresso recently. Very compact and not too heavy. Makes a nice but very small espresso. I often make 2 in a row as I find 1 is not always enough. It is important to run hot water thru first otherwise the espresso is not hot enough. Was surprised to find by experiment that water from a good thermos flask was plenty hot enough for good extraction of flavour. All up I am happy with my purchase.
