Carrying a Kindle - hard shell cover?

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Carrying a Kindle - hard shell cover?

Postby bumpingbill » Sat 21 Jan, 2017 3:31 pm

I've got a Kindle Paperwhite that I like to take walking with me.

But I've always struggled to protect it, especially when shoving it into tight bags.

Does anyone know of a product that I could put it in? Needs to have a hard shell, to stop bending in any direction.

Also be great if it was light as possible!

Ive got the above cover but have gone to the 'Redpepper" case. Its waterproof and robust. I don't stress about the kindle now. I got mine off ebay cheap or you can get them from the Company https://www.redpeppercases.com/product/ ... ase-black/

No light weight case would stop bending in a hard shove. Better to reconsider where to better store you Kindle pad and a general case to protect from scratches and bumps.
Just move it!

I just wrap mine in whatever spare clothing I have, put it in a stuff sack and make sure I pack it in the dead centre of my pack.

That way all the other crap in my pack absorbs any shocks and impacts that might occur, my Kindle stays safe and there is no need for any extra gear to be purchased.

I also keep it in a plain old case a bit like the one shown earlier.

Mine's just in a standard Kindle case, put into a ziplock bag for waterproofing and slid down the "inside" (harness side) of the pack. Never a problem.
