TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

One Planet Quest Quilt

Finally got to take a look at the new One Planet Quest quilt yesterday - been waiting ages to finally see one.... and ...
I was very underwhelmed if I am honest.

Sewn through construction - really !!
Stitching looked bad, loose threads, not properly back stitched
LOTS of down poking out the end seams of the quilt
No way of making a proper foot box down the bottom

I really wanted this to be my next quilt, been using an Ember 2 for at least 1.5 years

I'll just end up ordering an Enlightened Equipment Revelation

To be fair, it has a temp rating of +12C. I don't think the sewn through construction will be an issue for those using it at these temps, and of course will contribute to a lighter weight overall. A shame to hear of the quality issues though.

Just browsing the OP website it seems to be optimised for use as an extender and liner. I don't see the stitched though being a problem either at the nominated temperature rating of as a liner and it is of comparable price to the very similar units from S2S and Western Mountaineering

sorry, no photos.. yes, I agree that it is comparable to the STS offering.. I was just expecting more from OP.. Why make a clone of what is out there already locally..

as I said, the sales guy did mention there is a baffled version coming next year, and I hope he took some of my comments on board regarding the foot box not being able to be cinched up tight..

HOWEVER, I still feel the feathers protruding out the outer seam and lack of quality stitch work was disappointing.. I hope it was just a production sample..

I'm actually headed to the Melbourne store today to talk about a new bag for Alaska so I'll take the opportunity to check them out

A quick eyeball of the sample in the Melbourne city store and I could see none of the issues you raised, it may have been a pre-production sample in the wrong place
