TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

MSR Wind-Pro pots?

Postby Moondog55 » Mon 11 Jun, 2018 10:45 am

How do they actually work?
And others questions such as
Do they also work with other stoves such as the XG-K?
Pre-planning for my Deep-Cold trip and I have started looking for a really large but UL pot and I came upon the new MSR Wind-Pro stock pot.
If that skirt is efficient why they didn't continue the skirt to the top of the pot

MSR describe those pots as :
Compatible exclusively with WindBurner Stove Systems.
Obviously you could use pretty much any stove but the base of those pots would make it unstable with most as well as likely negating the advantage gained by using the new WindBurner stove that slots into them.

take a look at this for some inspiration :

Yes I did see that but I I simply assumed it was there to discourage hacking of the pot for alternative uses to maximise sales
