There is a plethora of products to condition leather. Some have animal fat, some have beeswax etc. They will all do what you want. The argument that certain types will be detrimental in the long run will not likely matter to you as you are more likely to encounter delamination of the sole.
The glues that bond a sole to the leather upper will likely be affected over time. They become brittle and a long awaited movement in the leather will fracture the bond and typically the sole will peel off whilst you're using them.
Scarpa are a well made boot. I've used many models and still do. That won't help much reduce the risk of delamination.
You clearly state they've received no love. You're more likely to face the fact that things don't last forever. Boots are probably the most abused piece of gear in normal use. They work between you and the ground.
You might be one of the lucky ones though.
