TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Adding a Piezo Igniter to an Optimus Crux stove

This clever dude worked out a simple mod for the Optimus Crux that enables it to be used with a piezo igniter:

The mod involves using the optional igniter from an MSR Superfly stove.

I'm going to give this a try once my Optimus Weekend HE arrives together with the bundled Optimus Crux burner.

With this mod, it even continues to fit under the gas canister!

Nifty!!!
