Small egg lifter sought

Postby Lophophaps » Fri 09 Feb, 2018 12:09 pm

I was in a BW shop this morning and saw a Jetboil set, fork, spoon and egg lifter. The egg lifter is quite small but ideal for BW. Trouble is the three items are a set, and I have plenty of spoons and forks. Does anyone know if a small egg lifter is made by other companies? TIA.

I'm about 5'3" - is that small enough? Plenty of experience in lifting eggs from various places.

Thank you for your kind offer, but I am after a metric egg lifter. Are you able to drive forklifts? If so perhaps you can assist.

No licence, but I've driven quite a few and know how to handle them.

How do you tell whether your chooks are laying metric or imperial eggs?

I do not have any chooks. Is your question a companion to the chicken crossing the road? Easter, Federation Hut, Mount Feathertop.

Thanks, cost $1.50, got the last one. The silicone is not as sharp as metal, which is good for removing calcified food in the frypan. Should the silicone be removed? I'm thinking of drilling a few small holes in the handle to save weight. This was done with water bottles, to great effect. Not by me. If the silicone is removed then holes can be drilled in that part.

I took out the wooden micro spatula from my kids $2 Ikea play cooking set. Extremely light weight (<10gm) and the size is perfect for UL.

While the spatula I bought worked, I did not like the floppy nature of the blade. A chef said it was okay to remove the floppy bit and this was done, leaving metal which can scrape a frypan and is a little lighter. The blade is perhaps a tad narrow, but it will suffice. This is what it looks like, 1 cm scale.

I realise I am a bit late but I just noticed these mini utensils coming up at Aldi next Wednesday. https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-wed-11-april/wednesday-detail-wk15/ps/p/mini-utensils-2/
