You can get creative with meals that you can get from the supermarket.
A personal favourite of mine is to get some Mac Cheese, cook in some dehydrated peas with a can of tuna.
That is... if Tuna is your thing.
Just be creative!
As for Backcountry... I know what you mean. That stuff is disgusting. I tried it once, and I never went back. Their Lamb Fettuccine was indescribable. Seriously, words can not describe how bad that stuff tasted...
It might be worth checking out some other brands though.
Strive Foods is my favourite, just placed an order for a trip this weekend. In my opinion, its the best dehydrated food that you can get, although the cook time is a bit longer, and a simmer is required. Their Bolognese is to die for! Pretty sure there's a thread or two on them on the forums about them.
