Good find.....haven't tried them but will order some to give them a go.

A quick look and they all appear be just flavoured mince? so guessing one would need to add stuff.

We just tried the meals from the tassie manufacturer (name escapes me) over the weekend and we were pleasantly impressed.

In the past I've ordered off them only to find that they've charged me a lot for postage. Make sure you ask for the total price. I also found that the beef takes a while to rehydrate, and can give you bad wind. If you are on a long hike all your down gear will end up smelling like beef haha. It is however an efficient way to prepare multiple dehydrated meals.

Country Casserole lacked flavour depth, but apart from that, just add some quick cook pasta, rice or other grains to suit.
Says 3serves on the pack...it's a hungry single serve on it's own or probably 2 people padded out with pasta.
Re-hydrated just fine, the price is good too. Just add your own extra's if you want to 'beef' it up a touch.

* Now that I've tried a few other pkt's on the menu...i'm not real impressed.
Lack of variety... beef beef beef, lack of taste, feel in mouth... maybe to much TVP to beef ratio.
..and the Eggs, Bacon & beef mince combo was bizarre to say the least.

Settlers have been around for many years up this way in Bne. Probably amongst the longest of the dehyd meals/ food options. Not overly popular these days as others have taken over for taste and variety but to their credit are local and still around . Mince based products in the main and in comparison, a bit bland . Their dried veggies on the other hand are really quite good.
