Printing KMZ files - MACOS

Postby Aushiker » Sun 18 Mar, 2018 12:49 pm

My searching hasn't been very successful but I was wondering if anyone knows of an application (macOS) that will import and allowing printing of KMZ files such as those kindly made available by http://natmap-cdn.shoddynet.org/ or this another option to obtain the 1:250 000 Geoscience Australia tiles in a printable format?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I tried that but for some reason they do not read *.kmz files now. Also have tried Graphic Converter 10 which does open the files but then only displays a portion of the image. Cannot work out why it is doing that.

I dont know if this helps, but the Geosciences Australia 250000 maps are available in PDF format from the GA website. These can be printed in the usual ways.

https://ecat.ga.gov.au/geonetwork/srv/e ... perpage=10

You need to know the name or number of the map you want. To search an area, type 250000 into the search box, click 'Show Advanced Options', drag the map to Aus, zoom in and select the area you want (click the dotted square box and drag an area). Click the search icon. The list of maps in that area are shown. Download the ones you want.

Thanks Ken. I have downloaded one map, copied the part I want and will see how it prints tomorrow at work and go from there.
