Yeah, it's good to see a trend towards lenses that are sharp edge to edge wide open.

I'm a Zeiss fan, but my f/1.4 lenses do soften up significantly wide open. Some argue that this is all part of the character and that it has artistic value. Stopped down a little they are truly magnificent. I'd just prefer perfection and add "character" using pp.

I'd swap my old Zeiss prime collection for the equivalent Zeiss Otus lenses, but it would probably cost more than a new Jaguar.... So it won't happen.

Which one of these lenses do you plan to get Adam? :-)

Slightly off topic.... I'm considering the 36MP A7r..... But I'll wait for some reviews using the older Zeiss lenses first, it might be a waste without the Otus lenses.
