Lake St Clair -> Cradle Mountain 20 or 21 April 2015

Postby ninj4 » Wed 01 Apr, 2015 2:06 pm

Hey,

here's the plan: I'm dropping the other three people in my travel group off at Cradle Mountain visitor centre, then taking the car down to Lake St Clair to leave it there for long term parking while we do the track. Then I have to get back to Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre somehow.

Using TassieLink would mean having to spend the night in Queenstown, as they do not operate the two routes Lake St Clair -> Queenstown and Queenstown -> Cradle Mountain on the same day.
Anybody looking to do that trip at a similar time, so that we could get together to book a shuttle bus? Or any other great ideas on how to do this?

Cheers

It's quite a pain, isn't it?

Try calling Stan at Adventure Seekers and see if he has any other bookings around that time.

He might be able to make something work for you.

Yep, a top operator.

Last time I booked with him, we paid upfront for 2 people. He managed to get a heap more people on our transfers by the time it happened, and then he promptly refunded the difference.

Highly recommended.

There's also maxwells coaches, a reliable local operator ninj4.

So I'm curious if your time are flexible? My father and I are coming down on a short holiday. I was planning on leaving Laucenston on the 17th. We don't exactly have a return date but I was planning on renting a car. I don't think we can wait til the 20th though. If there are 2 cars we could coordinate a shuttle system leaving one car at that start and one at the finish? It may require some unique packing of vehicles but I think it could be doable?
