I have a half a Veleda cloth, to wipe down the inside when you get up. It's not a hassle.
Cup hooks are almost circular with a screw thread. You'll find them in any hardware store. Twist them into a timber platform intead of a tent peg.

cool i might get some cup hooks on the weekend and drill some holes in some timber and peg it to grass and have a play around

You'll need to screw them in by hand, unless, I guess, you take some simple tool to make it easier. They aren't hard screwing into the pine, but do need some initial weight and strength to get them started.

The platforms are really arranged for standard 2 share plus framed tents but it's not hard to pitch tarp tents. Practice getting the shape right (with pegs at home) will help getting the hooks in the right spot. You can also use your pegs instead (or other suitable object) tied to the guylines and trapped between the boards, if the hooks prove too hard.
