Postby Aushiker » Tue 02 Aug, 2016 10:05 am

Massdrop currently have a drop about to start on a custom Klymit mat made for them, the Klymit Static V Ultra Light. No mention of pricing as yet. It looks like the drop opens tomorrow US time.

Will Rietveld puts the price for the non-insulated at $49.99. If the insulated isn't much more than that I think I'm in. http://ultralightinsights.blogspot.com. ... tic-v.html

I had a Sea to Summit Ultralight Small on my short list to replace my Exped Synmat UL7s but I think one of these might get the gong.

Exped is still going but has been patched a bit. Really looking at weight/pack size reductions. Not sure this one ticks the packed size reduction box but. Still to decide if I am going to update or not.

Seems like a good deal with the pillow. 1.3 R value is pretty low.

Good point on the R value. My Exped Synmat UL7S has an R value of 3.3 which seems to be fine for me here in the West.

The insulated one has an r-value of 4.4 and the weight puts it bang on with the regular S2S ultralight insulated, but with a higher r-value and half the cost. I think I'll give one a go. Not sure what the best inflation methods are going to be though.

I think these have a similar valve to the thermarest, perhaps one of their pimp sacks will work for the klymit too.
