Hi Mike,

I'd like to look at getting a large quilt (argon 67 inner, argon 90 outer) suitable for a 187cm male.

This will be my warm option so I'd want the zip and drawcord footbox with 950 hyperdry down + overfill appropriate for alpine winters (-12 C)

Let me know when you're able to discuss and look at quoting - I'd be keen for any suggestions you might have re. Material and other features.

Thanks,

James

Hi Mike,

We've been recommended to you by a friend to purchase your quilts. Could you please PM me at your earliest convenience? We would like to purchase two adult-sized quilts (probably the 950 HyperDRY goose down). Thansk and talk soon!

Hey Mike, Clark here (we went to High School together). Can you PM me when you can. It's off-topic, but I want to ask you about your physics PhD... and maybe even grab a quilt to replace my Katabatic gear one.

Mike - can you make me a 40ºF under quilt to the same specs as Hammock Gear?
I have their Econ 40º but would love the same as UQ - HG / US postage makes it unreasonable!!
Help me out!

Hi, I'm not making underquilts, at least not for now, I'm just not set up to make them efficiently, sorry. The only Australian made underquilts I know of at the moment are from Tier Gear.

Thanks for getting back to me, Mike. I bit the bullet and ordered a Wooki -1C from Warbonnet - seems like the best fit with the least weight as I have the WB hammock anyway. All the best to you and thanks again.

Hi Mike

It looks like your quilts taper from a wide point at the chest. Just wondering how that works with a female physique where the hips might be almost as wide as the shoulders?

Regards

Hi, the quilts do taper from the chest, however I didn't want it to taper too aggressively to the hips so that the design is not too body shape dependent. The 'back hole' also tapers so the actual quilt width changes more slowly than the overall appearance. My thinking is that you still need the most width around the chest for elbow room. There is also the wide option, which increases the width between the shoulders and hips but keeps the footbox the same. Cheers.

Thanks for the info Mike.

How wide is the short/wide quilt at the hip thigh area?

(I’m a side sleeper who sleeps - in typical side sleeper style - with somewhat bent knees. This can end up creating a gap in coverage over the hips.)

Hi, in the hip down to mid thigh area the width is between 130cm - 120cm. The lower of the pad straps sits slightly below the hips (so you can sit up if only the lower strap is clipped in) and helps keep the edge of the quilt in place on the pad in this region, the clips on the strap can be set at varying widths to allow more or less space for instance to allow knee up side sleeping. Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers, Michael
