Cliff Bars half price at wollies to 13th Nov

$1.50 each.
They are in the 'nutrition' section with the vitamins. Not the muesli bars nor the health food. :?

Took me the 3rd store to find stock. Good luck if you want them.

I grabbed one the other night. I was doing a fun run this morning and wanted something high energy to chew on pre-race.
There were plenty in my local Woolies. Might get some more.

Why might I want a Cliff bar?
Cliff Young?
Tasty?
What's the value?
Never heard of them, am I missing out?

An american thing - they seem to be a favourite among hikers over there.

The Cliff Young version is not to be recommended - They taste of mouldy potato and the inside of gum boots.

Thanks for the heads up. I'd been thinking about trying them, but not at full price! Got some. :)

I'd heard of them being used by marathon runners and endurance guys - like our friend Lou-Phi, that mad Belgian.
They're relatively high protein, including soy, have lots of forms of sugar (no idea if there's a reason for that), plus vitamins and minerals (calcium, magnesium, Vitamins A, C and E, various Bs and D). At $1.45, I figured they're worth a try. Reckon you got ripped off by 5c, Warin. A couple of varieties were smaller and more expensive ($1.75), so I gave them a miss.

Sugar = carbohydrates = energy.

I round things to a convenient number for me to remember. I'd have to look at the receipt.. they are ~$3 in Coles.

"An american thing" -ah ta Mark.
I had some proteinybarrymueslithingys this weekend -are they the same thing?
Are they better than a handful of raw almonds/macadamias and a few nice dates.
"Mouldy spuds and gumboots" -one for the less callow amongst us- Mark you are a card.

Yes, but why use brown rice syrup, cane syrup and dried cane syrup? The former is already the first ingredient so it isn't to make something else the top ingredient.

Checked them out-it appears they are exceedingly kilojoule dense for a light weight. So you can carry more Kilojoules for less space and weight impost.
Would that be right?
