Tarkine Coast Walk

Postby johnrs » Thu 30 Nov, 2017 12:24 pm

Hi Folks
Looking for some details for a walk along the Tarkine coast.
So far all I have is the general location
between Granville Harbour and Arthurs river,
seems like a long way and the Pieman river is in the middle.
Are there any shorter variations?

We are looking for a family walk,
very experienced family but some of us are getting on and don't want something super hard.
Our last trip was to lake Oberon in the WArthurs.
Please private message me if the area is sensitive
Thanks
John

Get hold of the Tarkine Trails book by Phill Pullinger. (pub. Bob Brown Foundation) . That will give you more ideas.

Try starting from the Pieman and head up or down, depending on how far you want to walk.

Yep Pieman Heads to Temma or further...a ferry service can drop you on the northern bank. Campsite details can be found in the TT guidebook or by searching online

Did the Tarkine coast walk earlier this year awesome... Started Worlds End and finished with a pick up at Pieman River by the cruise boat, nice way to finish.
Transport might be an issue as need to get into Worlds End and out of Corinna

Not a hard walk but spectacular remote beaches/coastline plenty of creeks for water too.
Did it over 6 days to give us time to relax and enjoy the environment. First 2 days is not so remote as quad bikes are allowed to use the beaches
About 85km all up

The PDF will give you an idea of what to expect along the trail, gorgeous scenery, wild coast and yes 4 seasons and more in one day. http://tarkinetrails.com.au/walks/tarkine-coast-trail/
