For anyone who has Tasmania on their bucket list to travel to, the Three Capes Track on the Tasman Peninsula is a must see and do thing to have on your agenda.

I would like to apologize if I can Kruchiver. That is an awesome clip and it's an amazing place.
I just struggle to get my head around the exclusion of people from the area who are happy without the flash huts, wide boardwalks and art installations. I dont wish to open a whole new can of worms......it's been done to death. I just wanted to explain why my comment was a bit negative, nothing personal intended and I glad you enjoyed the experience.
My mate and i did this in a round about way the old skool way with tents. I must say that the landscape and scenery is spectacular and after spending 7 days in the western authers the tracks which we aptly nicknamed the golden highway were not too bad either. It's a long way from what i consider traditional hiking but if having a track like that and comfy huts to sleep in gets more people out enjoying what this great country has to offer then all the better.

Is it still possible to do it the old school way? I would be very interested in this!
You can leave from Fortesque Bay and walk to Cape Pillar but are not supposed to go towards Mt Arthur. So can do it partially as a 2-3 day walk depending on your pace. The original campsite is still there, and has platforms. If you need water should be able to get it from one of the accessible huts.
Parks also ask that the track over Mt Fortesque is only walked in the direction towards Fortesque Bay.
In summary the 'original' track route is still accessible, and upgraded from Cape Pillar to Fortesque Bay via Mt Forteque, but not the new towards Mt Arthur.
