Recent Balfour info..?

Postby Smurphette » Tue 20 Mar, 2018 9:38 am

Has anyone been into Balfour recently?

I'm after some info and opinions on what the road is currently like and whether I might get my little Rav4 up there in one piece

I drove in about 10 years ago but had a local leading the way, so I'm a bit iffy about attempting again on my own..

Would love to see the cemetery if there's still anything to see, tried to find it last time but gave up (probably metres away, going by the photos I've seen..) because I was 7 months pregnant and got sick of walking around

Hey there... a Rav4 will get you into Balfour no problem, the road can be a little rutted in places but not too bad. If you drive past the old pub you reach an obvious area to stop where the walking track to the cemetery and some old mine shafts are. Just don't attempt the Balfour Track to the coast!
