Heading up to Lake Ada for a fishing hike to Lake Fanny in March next year.
I need to book a hire car to get to the Lake Ada carpark.
Anyone been up there recently? What is the road like? Will a 2wd suffice?

The road is fine for a 2wd, just a few pot holes that can be easily avoided.
The gate at Lake Augusta should be open at that time of year but best to check with Inland Fisheries or Parks and Wildlife. I believe they close it at the end of April.
That looks like a pad.

Augusta Road as far as Ada is fine. Last bit of the Lakes Highway is being sealed. It's all becoming very tame up there (until you start walking).

Just check if you can take the hire car on dirt roads for the bit to Lake Ada. Many hire companies here don't allow any driving on unsealed roads. Not sure if that means you wouldn't be insured if anything went wrong.
