I would be grateful if anyone can give me a rough estimate of how long it might take a fit(ish) walker in good weather to walk Mersey Forest Rd to Chalice Lake or Tent Tarn, I am guessing 5 hours?
cheers

I'm going to say two hours would get you well into the area (one way). It's a well graded climb on the track to Grail (3/4klm?) then easy walking above there.

I walked out from Tent Tarn last year. It took me 2 and 3/4 hours but I ran from Chapter lake and it was obviously all downhill. Pretty steep from Chapter lake up to the top of the falls, but then lovely walking to Chalice along a gentle incline. I think you're right allowing 4.5-5hrs to get into Tent tarn.

Time must smooth the hills. I would guess an hour from Chalice outlet to Tent Tarn, if the creek causes delays? A 1/2 hour lost route finding at the falls?
I'll have to buy a watch haha.
