FAGUS WATCH - 2019

Fri 12 Apr, 2019 12:43 am

It is that time again. Headed up to Mt Field yesterday afternoon to get some "before" shots. The patch by the road just below the car park for the Lake Webster track have started to turn. From memory they tend to turn early there. None have turned just below there at the Woodlands walk.

Has anyone been up Mt Field recently? Am planning to go up this Sunday and I've heard that it is well underway.

Drove to Field on Friday - some of it was a bit hard to pick from the white covering... :)
Only got as far as Lake Dobson

Visited Cradle Mountain on the 4th of May 2019 (Saturday). It was thin in places, but still worth a visit.

Also saw a wedding party celebrating May the Fourth by visiting Dove Lake in Star Wars cosplay. If any of you happen to read this, congratulations and thank you for letting me get a picture.

Went for another visit to Cradle Mountain yesterday. It's definitely thinning, worth a visit as it is quite pretty. Word from the rangers is that next barrage of strong winds/storm will get rid of all that remains. Has been a lovely Fagus season. :D
