Frenchman's Cap Future Management

Postby Nuts » Sat 02 May, 2020 1:34 pm

Frenchman's Cap Recreation Zone Plan is up on the parks site:

https://parks.tas.gov.au/about-us/manag ... a%20(TWWHA

Preliminary mentions of limiting walker numbers, booking systems, affirming track classification, and some potential change for guided operators.

Also mention of rehabilitating camping sites around the lake shore at Tahune (shifting focus to platforms on helipad track); further promotion of Loddon River camping area; areas north of track to Franklin River changed back into Wilderness Zone (was in recreation zone); no future consideration of a loop circuit walk; potential tact-on additions to Vera Hut if numbers continue to rise, and moving the toilet; still limited notes on TWC's Frenchman's Cap Walk project overview or planned/allowable infrastructure (given they are potentially at lease/license negotiations).

Thanks. Some tent platforms are probably going to be a good idea at Loddon River.
