Greenland Arctic Circle Trail

Wed 09 May, 2018 10:29 am

I’ll be doing Greenlands’ Arctic Circle Trail this August and was wondering if anyone here has done the trail?

Any tips about the Trail or Greenland in general!

We're currently thinking of having a crack at this next year, so a post-trip report would be much appreciated.

See you in Greenland? We'll be there from early July to late August, but will be doing some walking in the south and east. Sadly, no information to offer about the ACT, but good luck!

I'm hiking the trail in September, hoping there will be less people around and a chance of seeing the Aurora (although I realise it is still early in the season for that, just an optimist by nature)...I'm heading West to East, from Sisimiut to Kangerlussuaq, taking around 8 to 9 days. I have the Ciccerone guidebook and the maps and just bought myself a big fluffy down jacket, I'm taking the weather and isolation at that time of year a tad seriously!

Great to hear other Aussies are planning on walking this path, I had it on my tick list for years but when I listened to a Trail Show podcast- number #64 about the A.C.T. I just went and booked my tickets to Copenhagen.

Be fantastic to get some tips before I head off in a few months.
:)
