Anyone Hiked in Hawaii?

Postby Snowzone » Sun 29 May, 2011 10:41 am

Has anyone done either the Kalalau Trail (Napali Coast) on Kauai or the Swinging Bridges Walk in the Waihe'e Valley on Maui? I understand that both these walks need permits but I'm having trouble tracking down just how and where you get the permits.

Hi Snowzone, I have just returned from a week in Hawaii but the only walking I was able to do was a quick trek up Diamond Head in Honolulu. But have look at this site, it may have the information you need.

Thanks Lindsay, good site, it has helped with one of the walks. I think I was looking at National Parks instead of State Parks.
Diamond Head is on my list as well but I only have a couple of days on Oahu and then nearly 3 weeks on the other islands. I am really looking forward to the Hiking it all looks very lush. Now I just hope the volcano behaves itself.
cheers, Vicki
