I can't figure out where we are. If not a NP I'm assuming state forest.
Is the distant background around Namadgi, or that general area?

Part of the distant background is in Namadgi, including the more prominent peak

Waterfall Creek on Mount Wee Jasper
Wed 06 Mar, 2024 7:30 pm
Well I've got some of the clues to line up. Still a bit of a WAG - Mount Wee Jasper on the Hume and Hovell track?
EDIT: While pfaffing around looking at maps etc I didn't see crollsurf's post, which I think is probably correct.

Correct, a side track to the old Orroral Geodetic Observatory

Thanks, that's been on my to do list for a while.
Staying in the ACT:
- Waterhole on the Sanctuary loop, Tidbinbilla NR via Paddys River ACT

Kambah Pool
Thu 07 Mar, 2024 5:20 pm
Not Kambah Pool. This is one of several unnamed pools at this location, some are part of a named river (not the Murrumbidgee).

Not Blue Tiles or Molonglo R. This is probably a less significant river. A number of short walks around here and a handful of more challenging ones. This waterhole has a man made feature at one end.

Yes that's good enough. A really easy doddle around the Sanctuary loop, but excellent post op rehab for my new knee. This pool from memory is one of two that are dammed.

Took the words out of my mouth. Wonderful lighting and patient photography.
Next, still on the waterfall theme. Australian territory:
- Looking towards Cockpit Waterfall and Cascade Bay, Norfolk Island

Yes, on Norfolk island. The drop can be viewed from the timber platform being vacated by that cow, but the falls are somewhat ephemeral. Only a trickle when I visited, needs heavy rain for full flow.
