Not in the Spires.

I keep thinking Richmond Crag, but there's no unnamed pool/tarn/lake that would give you that angle on it, so I'm obviously way off base.
Sat 21 Jul, 2018 1:42 pm
Looks like the back of Hugel... Is it that little tarn just west of The Hippogriff?
Sat 21 Jul, 2018 5:33 pm
Yep it's on the Hippogriff. My campsite for my first night of the Gell/Cheyne circuit.

Some lovely camping up around there
Where is dis?

This one has been bugging me for hours, until I finally realised that's Eldon Peak on the left. Which would put you maybe on Read?

Correct!
Over to you, NNW.

Thanks. Should have been sooner. Kept getting the angles wrong. But that rock outcropping is really quite distinctive once you realise which area you're in.
How about this?

is that from Mt Sprent or thereabouts?
Sun 22 Jul, 2018 4:55 pm
Not Sprent, but you're in the right quarter of the state.
Sun 22 Jul, 2018 5:32 pm
Mt Robinson?
Sun 22 Jul, 2018 8:06 pm
Sprent was closer.
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 9:12 am
Gallagher Plateau?
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 9:58 am
Wrong direction from Sprent.
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 10:04 am
Pokana?
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 10:15 am
Now we're getting closer.
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 11:03 am
Mt Curly?
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 11:34 am
Didn't get to Curly, but you are still slowly moving closer.
Only one other forum member I know of has been to this peak.
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 12:08 pm
Not on the way to Innes High Rocky?
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 12:17 pm
I didn't go out, that was a solo trip by my companion. And there are a fair few others here who have been out to that one.
At least you're looking at the right trip.
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 1:59 pm
There is a peak at 1038 between the Spires and Rocky High Innes. The List has no name.
It does not fit your clues because you would pass it on the way out to RHI.
So maybe the slightly off set peak at 952m looking over Reverened creek?
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 2:11 pm
The clues would make me think it's from southern cone.
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 2:53 pm
Southern Cone is closest so far, but still not quite right.
Sorry eggs, but this one has a name.

Couldn't be White Pyramid, because you would see the Camel if looking northish - so are you on the Camel?

Not the Camel.
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 3:16 pm

Not the Camel.
So I'm guessing it COULD be white pyramid?
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 4:43 pm
Going by the sequence of photos, the date and the time, it can't be anywhere else other than White Pyramid. Obviously looking just past the side of The Camel.
ps: That was fun.
Mon 23 Jul, 2018 4:54 pm
That's the top of the Camel in pic for sure, kind of middle right in this pic. A nothing peak really...
