North from McDonald. Note the distinctive peak/area on the LHS.
We had hoped to camp on the top, but it was occupied by a school group.

Nope Gerry - if anything I'm looking in that general direction.
Eggs is closer as the feet fly.
The place I was standing is a good hill to spy from- especially for boors.

Using the boor hint. Is it from Spion Kopje?

OK. Here's one for the googlers.
Ignoring the politically very incorrect headland in the centre, what Cape are these two headed for in FNQ?

Clues. A hugely popular view for the caravan touring crew, and there is a short walk up the hill behind to the towns' namesakes lookout which even rhymes.

No guesses and unfortunately the clues haven't enlightened me, very un-confident but I'll try Cape Tribulation. If wrong at least we can rule it out.

Not far away. This is at the other end of the Daintree. But don't go too far North or you will arrive at Australia's biggest sand mine.

That would be quite a paddle form Cooktown to Cape Bedford?

Indeed it is.
Cape Bedford is an amazing landscape of silica dunes, pristine crystal clear lakes and tangled tropical scrub. Well worth the effort for those with a boat of some sort and probably the obligatory stop off for those headed further North.

Thanks crollsurf, I've scambled up and down it numerous times but not for a while.
NSW again, in some ordinary weather. What peak am I descending from?
