Good Evans that was a good first guess but further North I'm afraid.

Has a Glenbrook Gorge/lower Blueys look. Let's try Erskine Creek.

Thanks, it looked familiar but I haven't been there in years.

Are you in upper Thredbo Valley, next to the Thredbo river?

Obviously man made but interestingly, for the old Kosciusko Hotel. What's left of the Hotel is the staff quarters, now Sponars Chalet.

Your go Zapruda

Sorry folks. First time posting a photo in this thread. Most I had on hand seemed either too obvious or too non-specific. I tried to split the difference, but maybe this is still on the vague side. A couple of clues to keep the game moving. We got to this point after about an hour and a half walking along a well formed, popular walking track, with only a little bit of whinging from the 8 year old at the beginning. The aboriginal name for the mountain we are climbing is much more descriptive/sensible than the European one.

No need to be sorry. Are you in the Blue Mountains?

South-East of the Blue Mountains but still in sandstone country.

Your clue suggests pigeon house/didthul/boob mountain (translation)??? Somewhere near the ladders?

That's it. Part way up the ladders, looking inland. There seem to be more ladders as years go by.

It's sad that so many of the photos here are of areas now burnt. Try one from the ACT (location also burnt I believe):
