A bit cheeky eggs :). If my calculations are correct this will be taken from somewhere on the Mueller hut route. Overlooking much of the Aoraki/Mt Cook day walk area below and surrounding peaks - I think I can recognise Sefton and Mt Footstool on the left, Wakefield centre left (my previous shot is somewhere behind it), Aoraki/Mt Cook itself rising up at the back. You would have started from the White Horse Hill campground at lower right, as did I, though I took the nice but much easier option down the Hooker Valley in the centre, after visiting Kea Point (obscured).

About where the track meets the ridgeline John.
I thought you would be interested in a view with slightly clearer weather. And I was hoping it would not be too hard.

It's a very nice panorama Brian - looks like you were blessed with great weather. We did enjoy clearer conditions as the day wore on, but many of the higher peaks including Aoraki/Cook only put in an appearance as we were leaving. I recognised the location surprisingly quickly given that I've only visited once.

Given its popularity I'll put up another one from NZ. The name of the water feature will do, anything else gets a bonus point, including my location:

The colour of the water might be a clue.

Well it's not Blue Lake, North West Nelson, which according to Wikipedia "has the clearest natural fresh water in the world". Not enough trees.

Correct wayno. Taken while walking over my namesake, Mt John. The blue colour of the lake is caused by glacial flour.

Totally clueless on this one wayno. But to get things going is the trail you're looking at the Abel Tasman Coastal track?

Looks very much like the Coromandel. And if that's correct, looking at the Coastal Walk?
And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended,
And at night the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars.

no, not the coromandel, but it's closer than Abel Tasman... you probably see the similarity in how it looks, because its a volcanic geology..
