The nearby road would get a lot more visitors than up the Matukituki valleys
The colour of the water is quite relevant here.

Yes I saw that in NZ recently in several locations, so I assume glacial flour? But which one?

I didn't stop here because it was raining heavily, could it be on the Blue Pools walk off the Haast Pass Rd? On the Blue River or the Makarora R?

This small, probably ephemeral, tarn is about 2/3 of the way to the summit of this well frequented short-ish walk. The range in the background is more significant and is omnipresent in this area. I'm in the bush all day tomorrow, will check in when I return.
