Still NZ - name the nearby town [behind me - not the smaller one in view] - bonus for precision on my location

Very close to a major town here - you can also see a major lake in the distance here - and another one in a different direction.

It could be anywhere in northern Norway. I'll start with Kvaloya?

Tue 04 Dec, 2018 3:00 pm

No its not Kvaloya. It is on an island though - and its probably a marginally warmer island than Kvaloya.

Easy fix Greg - check http://bushwalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18951&p=331384&hilit=dingle#p331308

The headland is Sybil Head from the rocks near Clogher Head
As per this map:

Bora Bora, French Polynesia - seen from the Western side.
I presume this was on a Cruise? But did you climb it?

Correct eggs, en route Honolulu-Sydney for nearly 3 weeks (saw a lot of ocean). Unfortunately one short day in port here didn't give enough time to climb Mt Pahia (pictured). We did tour and walk around the island for much of the day, and I believe locals guide trips to the summit but would need more time than we had. There are two or three peaks on Bora Bora that look worth climbing, one goes to a high cave on Mt Otemanu. I managed to hike Le Col des Trois Cocotiers on Moorea the previous day.

It's a fascinating spot To my surprise my wife enjoyed walking around the formations.

We called in to NZ recently during the same trip as the Bora Bora image I posted above.
The name of the body of water will do, bonus point for any other feature.
