Just the look of that beautiful photo has me pining for the fjords. Was it the sinking of the Tirpitz?
Or the raid upon the Lofotens?

Yes Vagrom, the Tirpitz was sunk just off that island (Hakoya). I am on the plateau near Tromso. Lots of great walking there.
Sorry Johnw, I didn't see your response. Definitely in Scandinavia.

I'm not sure who was meant to post but it's past anyone can go so I'll put one in to keep the game rolling.

NZ. On a short walk but more travel/nature study than bushwalking:

Yes Graham, within the Zealandia ecosanctuary/conservation project in Wellington.
Very interesting place with an ambitious 500 year plan to restore that patch to more or less what it was before humans arrived in NZ.

A 5 minute search on Google Images did the trick.
Where are all of these people resting in Nepal?

No, we had a white out and snow the day we tried to go up there. This was the next day.

It is a pass but not Kongma. The other direction.

There are three passes on the Three Pass trek (which we didn't walk, by the way.) But we did go over one of them and this is it. We have discounted one so that only leaves two to choose from.

Got it this time John. We crossed Cho La after we left the track to Base Camp to cross to the Gokyo Lakes.

Thanks Graham. I'd like to think I may still get up there eventually, but I'm not getting any younger.

Not Diamond Head Tyreless, but you are on the right island and not too far away. I did visit Diamond Head a couple of days earlier.

That's the one Tyreless. Highly recommended (by me). Further out of town but it's a bit like Diamond Head on steroids.

I went snorkeling just near there and saw green turtles - so nice.

Next one is in Asia. We walked in from the top after 4 hours' walking but most people arrive from the bottom.

Never been there. Is it in Ise, where that famous Tore Shrine/gate is? Somewhere in the holy triangle of Nara, Edo and Osaka I guess.

Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto.

Dedicated to Inari, the god of rice, sake and prosperity. What's not to like ?
