100% correct cajun. In the observatory precinct just north of Mt John summit.

Time for a clue - it is on the east coast of England on a famous, but not "official" walk.

Further clue. The walk was initially completed by Alfred Wainwright. This post is used by the Coastguard.

Must be too obscure. The nearest town is Robin Hoods Bay at the end of the Coast to Coast walk (West to East). About 30 minutes away.

Sorry cajun. This game is very slow at the best of times. I did try to research the photo and came up with Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk but nothing more specific. I couldn't find any references to lookout posts etc. Does this location have a name that you are looking for?

All good John. Most of my OS shots are too easy, so I thought I would try a more challenging one.

In the interests of a "quick game is a ..."

It is the Coastguard Rocket post, in Rocket Post field, on the C2C (which at this point is also the Cleveland Way). The Coastguard used to practice firing their rescue rockets from here.

Over to you John :-)

I think this may be Aira Force spanning the Aira Beck, Lakes District NP Ullswater. Apparently named after the force of the water, nothing to do with a military organisation with a lot of aeroplanes.

It is Aira Force after heavy rain.
I believe a lot of waterfalls in England are called "Force"

PS - from the web:
"Aira Force is gorgeous waterfall: the river Aira beck drops down over 21 meter at an ancient stone bridge. The river name Aira is derived from Old Norse eyrr that means gravel bank. The Old Norse word fors means waterfall and is still used for waterfall names in the north of Norway and at the border with Sweden."

Well the Remarkables are in the shot, sort of. That lump on the right is the start of them. The winding road goes up to the ski field.
I have to give it to eggs though, this is Queenstown Hill on the trail just beyond the walkway.

Kegon Waterfall (Kegon no taki)? I haven't visited Japan, very tempted with some of the cheap flights around, but this appears to be a popular spot.

That's the spot, john. It drains Lake Chuzenji which is a very scenic lake formed in a volcanic crater. Some nice long walks around that lake (watch out for bears!) but viewing the Kegon Falls is a short stroll.

Thanks Tyreless, and apparently alternatively viewed via some kind of underground elevator.
I'm getting ready for an imminent trip to North America and need to duck out for most of the day.
If anyone wants to jump in next, please do.

Not Mauna Kea, right idea but different island.
