I don’t know the country. It’s a virtual background on google hangouts. A friend asked me where the photo was taken and I couldn’t figure it out. I thought of you guys, how well traveled you are and how good you are at sleuthing. I thought if anyone could come up with the answer it would be one of you.

I’m sorry for abusing the game a little. Of course someone should feel free to post a valid puzzle.

Thanks, with those extra clues it was easy enough to track down. Without clues international photos can be particularly difficult unless you've been there.

Here's one from Canada. I'm only looking for the name of the small tarn in the foreground. Bonus points for other features:
