Dolerite goes a fair way in Tas - it is one of the more remarkable features of Tas that speaks to me of forces acting on vastly larger and faster scales than we tend to think of today.

I think it might be Anne rather than Denisons though.
So it might be from Mt Bobs? [I don't have any photos from there]

Yep, Bobs it is. That's Anne sticking up way out the back and the South Picton Range on the right.

Back to you.
That looks like a pad.

Great shot.

I'm thinking somewhere near Four Peaks/Thwaites Plateau?

Congrats, Eggs. You do have a lot of magnificent photos, and it's lovely to see them used more widely. :)

I think it's actually very close to the last one - It looks like Lake Gaston, Payens again, and Dragonfly, so probably heading up Federation. Not sure exactly where from, though.

Thanks. I loved the look of that huge boulder down below and the thought of it crashing down into the lake sometime long ago!

Wow, did you go straight up the face?? It's much less steep to approach from behind.....

That's the one, your turn.

Came up from behind but then circled round the front again (where this photo was taken) about 5 meters from the top.

No. Correct corner of the state, but I'm at a much lower altitude.

This is on one of the 60 Great Short Walks of Tasmania.

Must admit I haven't done this one yet. I think you're on the Labillardiere Peninsula (Pineapple Rocks) track looking at the bluff below Mt Bleak.

Thanks Zane, it's on the hit list for next time I'm down. Although I think taking rental cars across to South Bruny on the ferry has become a problem since I last went there.
