GAME: Where am I?

Ok, so it's not north of Sharlands, or south of Frenchmans, it's between 2 Abels. I'm assuming, perhaps wrongly, that it's not NW of Sharlands either.
I think that puts us south of Barron Pass. I don't recall seeing anything like that west off Agamemnon, but to hasten our relief from misery, I'll stab at somewhere between Philps and Agamemnon.

That's it, the narrower part of the ridge near the most scrambly bit up towards Philps from the saddle. I really thought someone else would have noted the cool rock formations around there.

I'll look out for them when I go. I made the sad but better choice to pull the pin just before the last scrubby saddle on the way to Philps. The limited daylight hours and my slowness meant we would have been coming through the scrub down the steep hill off Agamemnon in a big storm in the dark. All credit to my trusty companions, who, having been to Philps before, left the call to me. Looking forward to getting back.

So where are these 3 fellas standing? You will have had to be bushwalking for a while to recognise the spot as the track doesnt go there anymore.

That's my pick, but I wasn't sure how reliable the water up there is. There wasn't a lot at the end of April in the shallow open valley. Maybe better soaks near the south- and east-flowing creeks?

To narrow it down, I'm guessing it's an old OLT photo, with that major highway surface?
Can't think where it's been rerouted, though. My ancient shot of old New Pelion (wherever that was) doesn't match at all.

Right track, this was in '99. But not near Pelion , old New Pelion was where the platform is now.
