Wow - that was a lot of detail tasadam

but I think it is on a side track - summit of Mt Canopus looking at Lake Venus and the Phoenix

Boy - I love the different photo perspectives this "game" is putting on screen.
I was planning on this part of the Arthurs for the next trip - but raises the incentive to get out on this peak.

Yep, the second half of the Arthurs is under-rated eggs, most people miss out by exiting down morraine k.
Not quite as intense as the first half but still amazing in it's own right.
Phew, you're up :D

Not the Lyall Highway
From memory there are only a couple of spots you can see Frenchman's Cap from that highway?
You have the Frenchman OK, but need to identify at least one other mountain to correct your position.

Edit - no, not on the road to Strahan. I cannot remember seeing the Frenchman from that one also?

No - not the Anthony Link road. Great views of Cradle Mtn Nat Park, but I suspect Frenchman's is completely blocked by the Tyndall range.
I am sure identifying the other peak will help
To assist - this is a photo of that peak from the Lyell Highway [that sthughes suggested] at about the same angle as the other photo

Sorry Nick

Not the Mt Jukes road. It gives a terrific view of Frenchman's Cap - but perhaps another hint is this is a telephoto shot.
That is why the person who gets it will probably also have identified the other mountain.
I should add that the reason I took this photo is that (apart from the great patch of snow) I was amazed that I could even see the Frenchman from where we were.

Professor Range then on the Murchison H'way between Zeehan & Strahan!

Edit - it's actually the Henty Road not the Murchy H'way.

Or a tad further west in the Badger River area, not all the way though - around the Professor Range somewhere, or on some gravel road nearby that doesn't show on my pathetic touring map! Arghhh I'm obsessed - it's official!.

I knew this was a bit tougher, but I am surprised it is this hard.
Once you have a bearing from Frenchmans past the edge of Mt Owen there are only about 4 roads that you cross.
2 are ruled out as wrong side or too close to Mt Owen leaving 2.

Edit: And actually, I think you will find there is a road you can see in the middle of this photo - and that will be the Zeehan to Strahan road.
2nd edit - hmm more likely Queensberry track where it drops down to the Strahan road. The Strahan road is the bottom of a very curious square cut valley through this section.

So to use a tasadam method this is a view in another direction from very close by:

Tial Harbour Road near Mt Agnew then.
I've only been up that road in driving rain as well!

Well you put in the hard yards on this one sthughes so you get the nod.
What I was hoping for was "just out of/above Trial Harbour".
The "town" lies at the base of an escarpment and as the road rises up out of it onto the plateau this is the brief view you get across to Owen & Frenchman's Cap. And I am pretty sure the smaller mountain in front of Owen is actually Mt Zeehan.

Mt Agnew is the next mountain next to the road as you head towards Zeehan, but I would not have said you are 'next' to it at this point.
Edit: You got me thinking and I looked again. I reckon you are more correct than I was - memory must be going, but I reckon you would be very close to Mt Agnew - a bit further along than I first thought.
I am curious, how many of you guys have been to Trial Harbour?
I think the locals are glad it is undiscovered (and the road is a bit rough), but there are some intriguing walks you can do along the coasts and into the mountains there.

Over to you sthughes

In my defence that location is directly in line with the Professor Range and pretty darn close to Mt. Agnew. Using a zoom makes it tough!

Now something a bit easier, sorry about the quality - I took it with my phone.

As you head north from Moina, you come to some real twisty bits where it's nearly always wet (especially on a motorbike).
After the twisties, there is a bit of a straight. It's just here at the start of the straight that there is a walk that starts on the left. The name escapes me at the moment but if someone else knows it, feel free to pinch it.
Ah, could it be Bell Mountain?

Had to consult the brains trust - my wife got that one. Been past the start of the walk many times as you can imagine, must do it now.

So, where to now...
Where is this photo taken from?
I have to start with a clue - this one's not as easy as it may seem.
