Wow that was pretty lucky... the only thing I had to go on was the rock type and a vague recollection of a gully near the summit that would be similar to the one covered in snow in the photo.

Next one I guess...

Looks like central plateau. Not enough trees for the southern half, in the western tiers somewhere?

We're getting there. Central Plateau, south of Mackenzie, but not Blue Peaks. There is a track not too far away.

That will do, Geevesy. About 200m southish of the Forty Lakes summit. Lovely back to that peak.

Wasn't aware fires got across to there. Hopefully not.

No, they're long dead. No recent fires there - the big fire took out a lot of country around Lake MacKenzie, up past Parmeener to Western Bluff, northern part of the Blue Peaks track, down to the base of the northern cliffs on Fisher. Few spot fires elsewhere, but the worst damage is that northern area.
I'm just glad it didn't jump up the rocks on Fisher - that's a gorgeous place, with heaps of pines, multi-coloured scoparia, epacris, etc.

Thanks. Last time I was up there I clambered down to the tarn closest to have a look before popping back up to do the circuit. Those long angled rock slabs are a little sketchier than they look (though a rather quick way of heading down and up)!
