I keep thinking of that spot on Pine Forest Moor near one of the tarns . . . too simple . . . is it even in the Reserve?

Norts has it - Lake Will is on the left, with the ridge that separates the area with Waterfall Valley on the skyline. On our walk a couple of years ago, we got back to the junction and Currawongs had eaten all of my partner's lollies! Long way to Lake St Clair then...

Walked down that ridge once from Barn Bluff.
Where was this spot , I have now been to this spot twice and still to see it in nice weather.

Based on the sand, I'm going to have a stab and say Petrach. I'm not sure if it's high enough to get that nice fagus though.

If I remember correctly, Petrarch has a great beach, but no beech.

It was a lovely carpet of Gunnii leaves on the beach and elsewhere on some of the track, and still a lot of colour on the trees. I think it was early May several years ago.

Not the folded range either. You have gone in the wrong direction. The peak where the tent is not a often visited peak but it is in a frequently visited area.
