Shore of Shadow Lake, looking at Little Hugel?
Tue 20 Jun, 2017 9:06 am
That be it. All yours...

Thanks Thornbill, nice feeling when your go with your gut and it's right for once.
Where was I when I caught this fleeting glance at the surrounding mountains?
Tue 20 Jun, 2017 12:56 pm
That's the Weld ridge to the right of centre, and the only spot you'd get that angle on it with a lake below would be on Hartz.
Please add a healthy dose of 'I think' to the above.

Right area, wrong mountain.
Tue 20 Jun, 2017 1:31 pm
Snowy?
Tue 20 Jun, 2017 1:40 pm
It might be looking at Weld [plus Lots Wife and Nevada Peak] over North Lake of Mt Picton?
Tue 20 Jun, 2017 1:51 pm
Picton was my first thought, but I don't remember a lake down there.

Hit the nail there eggs, should have gone with your gut NNW

Well - I have to rely on the LIST, having never been there. It shows the lake and its adjacent flats.
Next one
- Across Hermione to Hugel & Rufus on the way out to Gould's Sugarloaf

Hmmm I see Hugel and Rufus and what I guess could be Hermoine... perhaps from Gould's Sugarloaf?
Tue 20 Jun, 2017 6:48 pm
Close enough - we were on the way out to Gould's Sugarloaf - probably near "the Tree" and before the Little Sugarloaf.

Have always wanted to go out there...

???
It has a Labyrinth sort of feel . . . or maybe northern Traveller/Orion Lakes . . . but the shape of that big lump of dolerite at the back doesn't ring any bells . . .
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 10:44 am
It looks Huge....l
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 11:14 am
It very much feels like the labyrinth here..
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 11:31 am
Near the summit of Mt Olympus, near all the tarns? (haven't been there myself so I'm totally guessing)
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 1:04 pm
Nope. But Olympus is prominent from here..
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 5:04 pm
Looks like that could be Rufus off to the right hand side too
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 5:09 pm
..ergo..
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 5:34 pm
Cyane? I can't find anything in my archives that matches that peak.
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 6:51 pm
An area like the Labyrinth with Hugel as a back drop?
Maybe the Cheyne Range and its numerous tarns?
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 11:01 pm
Eggs has it, the Cheyne Range is a wonderous place.
Wed 21 Jun, 2017 11:35 pm
That is pencilled in for the future - God willing.
We actually turned back from the approach to the Cheyne Range and ended up doing an alternative earlier this year.
Next one then.
- Overlooking the small basin on the Cuvier shelf. Cheyne Range, Gell and Goulds Sugarloaf in view.
